The town of Cochrane in Alberta was established in 1881 as the Cochrane Ranche, after Mathew Henry Cochrane, a local rancher, it was a village in 1903 but became a town 1971, intersected by Highway 1A and Highway 22, and it has not stopped growing since! Cochrane is also a small industrial area, industries include lumber, construction, retail, and ranching/farming.
