The Hamptons is located in the North West of Calgary, Alberta and is close to the northern edge of the city. Flanked on it's North side by Stoney Trail and to the East by Shaganappi Trail. On the South side runs Country Hills Boulevard, and to the West Sarcee Trail.


The land was annexed in two stages, the southern area in 1976 and the northern one in 1989. The Hamptons was established in 1990 and at City Council is in Ward 2. 


The community is home to an Olympic size hockey rink, Kids rink, full playground and parks. The playground was donated by the Hamptons Home Owners Association at the rear of the school next to the hockey rink.
