Varsity was developed in the 60’s and 70’s and is a mature neighborhood in Northwest Calgary, Alberta, to the North of the Bow River Valley. There are three main areas:


1) Varsity Acres: The oldest part of Varsity built in the 1960’s. 


2) Varsity Village: The developers of Varsity Village used as many cul-de-sacs as they could, and used pedestrian pathways instead of rear lanes that connected to parks behind the houses. Their intent was to create a park-like setting for people who wanted to use the rear walkways. Market Mall is located in Varsity Village as are many of the condo complexes.


3) Varsity Estates:  This is Varsity’s high-end area made up of detached single family homes mainly lying adjacent to Bowmont Natural Park or the Silver Springs Golf and Country Club. Brentwood LRT is only a 5 to 30-minute walk depending on where in Varsity you live, adjacent to Varsity Estates The C-train.
