Varsity Estates was developed in the 60’s and 70’s and is a mature neighborhood in Northwest Calgary, Alberta, to the North of the Bow River Valley. There are three main areas:
1) Varsity Acres: The oldest part of Varsity built in the 1960’s.
2) Varsity Village: The developers of Varsity Village used as many cul-de-sacs as they could, and used pedestrian pathways instead of rear lanes that connected to parks behind the houses. Their intent was to create a park-like setting for people who wanted to use the rear walkways. Market Mall is located in Varsity Village as are many of the NORTHWEST CONDOS.
3) Varsity Estates: This is Varsity’s high-end area made up of detached single family homes mainly lying adjacent to Bowmont Natural Park or the SILVER SPRINGS GOLF CLUB AND COUNTRY CLUB.
