Banff Condos within Banff National Park in Alberta province Canada. It is located in Alberta’s Rockies along the Trans Canada Highway, approximately 126 km West of Calgary and 58 km East of the beautiful Lake Louise. With its elevation of 4,600ft to 5,350ft, Banff has the second highest elevation in Alberta after Lake Louise.
Banff is surrounded by mountains, notably Mount Rundle, Sulphur Mountain, Mount Norquay and Cascade Mountain. The town itself is along the Bow Falls near the confluence of the Bow River & Spray River. It is one of Canada's most popular tourist attractions, well known for its mountainous surroundings and the Hot Springs. With incredible outdoor sports, it features extensive Hiking, Biking, Scrambling, and Skiing all within the area. Famous Ski resorts Sunshine Village, Ski Norquay, and Lake Louise Mountain Resort are all on its doorstep located within the National Park.
History Note: The area was named Banff in 1884 by George Stephen, president of the Canadian Pacific Railway, recalling his birthplace in Banff, Scotland. The Canadian Pacific built a series of grand hotels along the rail line and advertised the Banff Spring Hotel as an International tourist resort.
